Sketching is an important part of design. You can get you ideas out on paper much quicker than you can on the computer. You are also not bogged down by the tools. If you are new to design or a particular software program the software can hinder you creative flow. You may not know how to achieve what you want and tat can stall the creative process.
Sketching, especially thumbnail sketches, are about getting you ideas down on paper quickly. You want to get your ideas out and them come up with new ideas. Ideation is what is important, come up with idea after idea.
Important things to think about when Sketching
- Sketching in the same ratio as you final project
- Create notes and call out to explain your sketches
- Do more sketches than what you need
- You can use color
